The architecture of India has been affected by many outer cultures and religions but the structure they leave behind is magnificent.

These architecture and structures are divided into various forms like Hindu architecture, Mughal architecture, Dravidian art, Indo-Islamic architecture, and Nagara art.

You must visit once these beautiful and memorizing architectures and here we are presenting the famous Indian Architecture so let’s have a closer look at that:-

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal has been considered as one of the most popular historical monuments of India and a famous one in all over the world.  

Mughal emperor Shahjahan built this structure in 1653 in the memory of his loving wife Mumtaj Mahal so people called it the symbol of love.

Taj Mahal looks beautiful in the full moon night as it shines due to white marble or sangemarmar. Every year millions of tourists visit here from all places in the world.    

Kailasa Temple

Kailasa or Kailasha is one of the largest and iconic temples situated in Maharashtra, in the famous Allora caves, and ranges more than 2 km.

You can see the different views and architecture design and the effects of Pallava art. The top structure heights near about 107 feet and all the structure has been built by cutting rocks from top to bottom.    

Lotus Temple

Lotus temple is also a popular example of Indian architecture and situated in Delhi. The building looks like a half-opening lotus flower.

There are various pools and gardens available surrounding the temple and more than 2500 people can visit here simultaneously. You can easily reach there.    

Basically, the Lotus temple has been dedicated to the Bahai faith and only a single one in India.  

Sun Temple:

Sun temple, Black Pagoda, or also known as Konark temple has been developed in the 13th century and a great example of Dravidian architecture.

The whole temple looks like a big chariot with 12 wheels and 7 horses and dedicated to Surya Devta. The whole temple has been built by cutting giant rocks and quite a popular ancient structure in Indian history.    

Khajuraho Temple:

Khajuraho temple is one of the most prominent and dominant monuments of India located in Madhya Pradesh.

The temple is constructed by Chandela emperors and added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple signifies a combination of Hindu and Jaina Dharma.

The marble carved statues are outstanding and you can see the different temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and other Gods and Goddesses.    

Victoria Memorial:

Victoria Memorial is a lovely structure situated in Kolkata and constructed between 1906 and 1921 in the memory of Queen Victoria.   

The whole building has been created with white marble and turned it into a huge museum. You can see the big towers, galleries, lots of books, and other features.  

Sanchi Stupa:

This famous Buddhist Stupa has been constructed in Madhya Pradesh and is known as one of the prominent and oldest monuments of India.

The Stupa was shaped like a hemispherical doom and constructed by Mauryan king Ashoka in 3rd century BC.  

People come from far to see this, especially the Buddhist disciples, the structure which has the ashes of Buddha and linked with religious belief.   

Chand Baori:

Chand Baori is a huge step well situated in a small village of Rajasthan. This Rajput ancient structure has been developed in the 9th century and has quite deep well with 3500 steps that take you in down.

This is a fantastic example of geometric architecture and one of the famous tourist spots as well.   

Amer Fort:

Amer fort or Amber palace is situated 11km away from Jaipur, Rajasthan. This great structure was built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh.

You can easily see the gigantic art and architecture of Rajasthan and how Rajput Rajas used to live there with their families.

The Maota Lake that you can see from the fort used to be the source of the water supply of that time.    

Dilwara Temple:

Dilwara or Delvada temple is created by emperor Vimal Shah in 1031 A.D. the temple is dedicated to Jaina Dharma and you can see the marble carvings that look amazing. The temple is located in Mount Abu, Rajasthan and you can easily reach there.
