Just so you know, we are not talking about the series. Today, we are going to tell you about a scientific theory. How did the universe come into existence? Who created the universe? We get these thoughts in our mind most of the times. Most stargazers would sit back and think who made the universe. Most people believe that God created the universe but it is not true. Yes, divine powers do exist but the real reason behind the creation of universe is the BIG BANG THEORY.

Today, we are going to tell you more about the Big Bang Theory. Even if you are not a Science student, you would be interested to know how the universe came into being. It is fascinating because there is a scientific theory behind it.  Read on to find out more about the Big Bang Theory.

What is Big Bang Theory?

The Big Bang Theory is a scientific theory that describes how the Universe started. The galaxies and stars were made after the Universe came into being. In simple words, the Universe started with the Big Bang. It was dense, hot and tiny. According to scientists, our Universe is 13.81 billion years old and it has been expanding since then. Since it is expanding, it is getting cooler. The Universe was 10-34 old  when it faced a burst of expansion. This was known as inflation. The Universe has doubled in size and we cannot measure the size of it in kilometres.

According to NASA, the inflation has been constantly happening but at a slow rate. The Universe was a tiny point sized bubble and the sudden inflation occurred which is known as the BIG BANG. It exploded and Universe was created.

Time and space (and matter) concepts were created with the Big Bang. It was a tiny point and suddenly, it became bigger than the galaxy. Do you know that our Universe is still expanding? The Universe cooled and expanded. The energy changed into anti matter and matter. The stable particles such as the neutrons and protons started forming when the Universe was just one second old. In the next three minutes, the temperature also dropped and the protons and neutrons could come together to form helium nuclei and hydrogen.

How to explain Big Bang in simple terms?

An 8 year old child would ask you, “What is the big bang theory?” What would you say? Let us put it this way. Universe is a race and the Big Bang Theory was the starting gun. Shoot and BANG, the Universe was created. Imagine how a tiny bubble inflated and turned bigger than the galaxy. It is hard to tell as to why this event happened but the explosion was big enough to turn the hot and dense bubble into a cool and expanded one! It was a hot explosion that caused the expansion. It took one second to create the universe.

Do note that it is not a proven fact but most scientists would agree to it. Before the universe was born, the universe was sticky and hot. It was surrounded by gases and was made of tiny particles of matter. After three minutes of the universe forming, gravity was created.

Is God the creator of the Universe?

Steven Hawking, a scientist from Britain said that God did not create the universe. He said that the universe will create itself from almost nothing. We do not wish to dismiss the fact that God exists. Yes, there is a divine power, which watches over us and listens to our dreams and desires of the heart. However, it is difficult to say that God has a big role to play to create the universe. The Bible repeatedly says that, “Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all this? Don’t you know? God is the creator.”

“For God commanded and they were created.”

What do you think? Is the Universe the creation of God? We are believers of God as well but it is hard for us to think that there would be a divine power behind it.

What caused the Big Bang effect?

Was it the divine powers which caused the Big Bang effect? We are not sure about that! The Universe was formed spontaneously and Big Bang Theory was a spontaneous effect. The Scientists have confirmed that it was the Big Bang Theory which could best describe the beginning of the Universe. In the late 1920’s, a scientist named Edwin Hubble, saw through a telescope that the galaxies were moving away. Since the galaxies are moving away in all direction from each other then we can say that there must be a point of origin from where they are moving apart and from here only big bang theory was created

The cosmic explosion caused the Big Bang. Is it a result of Physics? The answer is no because concepts of gravity, speed of light, etc did not exist because they were not yet created.

Does everything that exist need to have a cause? Some physicists dismiss the need for a cause. Science is objective and they base everything on a cause. Victor Stenger, a Physicist, said that the universe just exists and that is it. There has to be no cause for it.

Most people believe that God created the Universe for us. However, we did not exist at that time. We do not disapprove the existence of God but we do believe it is the law of Physics that created the Universe. It will be a mystery and somehow people love the unknown. Physicists are constantly in dialogue with those, who believe that God created everything. We would just say that the BIG BANG was the beginning. A cause is not necessary all the time. It happened and the Universe was created. We should be happy that we exist and that we live on a cooled down planet.
