Ladakh (Established on 31 October 2019)

Area – 59,146 km²

Population – 2.74 lakhs

Capital – Leh

Region – North India

Ladakh is popularly remembered as the heaven of the Earth. It’s a land with an indulgence of attractive places to visit and full of beautiful landscapes. The people residing there are religious and have incredible cultures. Ladakh is famous because of Pangong Lake, Magnetic Hill, and Zanskar Valley. It includes two main districts, Leh and Kargil.

Jammu & Kashmir (Established on October 31, 2019)

Area – 222,236 km²

Population – 1.25 Crores

Capital – Jammu (winter), Srinagar (summer)

Region – North India

As per the Constitution of India, the central government of India announced that Jammu and Kashmir are the new Union Territory of India. It possesses its legislature, same as the other two Union Territories of India, Delhi, and Pondicherry.

It is a self-administered government with a legislative government.

National Capital Territory of Delhi (Capital Delhi, Established on 1 November 1956)

Area – 1,483 km²

Population – 1, 67, 53, 235

Region – North India

Delhi or what we can call, the National Capital Territory of Delhi is a metropolitan city and also a union territory in India which includes the capital city of India, New Delhi. Delhi is famous because of India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, and Hauz Khas Village. Same as like other states of India, Delhi possesses its legislature.

It is a self-administered government with a legislative government.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Established on May 30, 1987)

Area – 491 km²

Population – 3, 42,853

Region – Western India

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are concurrently a solitary union territory as per the constitution authorized by the Government of India. Daman is established as the capital of this new union territory.

Daman and Diu are popular because of the great places like Devka Beach, Mirasol Lake Garden, Lighthouse, and Daman. Dadra and Nagar Haveli were integrated with the Republic of India on 11 August 1961.

Pondicherry – Puducherry (Established on 16 August 1962)

Area – 479 km²

Population – 12,44,464

Capital – Puducherry

Region – South India

Pondicherry was established in 1962, out of the retired French colonies of Mahe, Pondicherry, Karaikal, and Yanam. These regions are presently the districts under Pondicherry.

Karaikal and Puducherry districts are edged by Tamil Nadu while the rest of the districts of Mahe and Yanam are edged by Kerala and Andhra Pradesh respectively. Pondicherry is popular because of the great places like Paradise Beach, Pondicherry, Aurobindo Ashram, and Auroville.

Pondicherry is also implied as Puducherry and generally spoken of as just Pondy.

Chandigarh (Also the Capital of Punjab & Haryana, (Established on 1 November 1966)

Capital – Chandigarh

Chandigarh is the capital city of both state Punjab as well as Haryana. Lakshadweep – Smallest union territory of India (Established on 1st November 1956)

Area – 32 km²

Population – 64,429

Capital – Kavaratti

Region – South India

Lakshadweep has rare beautiful and exotic islands and waterfronts of India. Also, it is the smallest union territory of India. Lakshadweep was once a part of Madras (now Chennai) and was set apart. It has the dignity of Union Territory. Lakshadweep is popular because of the great places like Minicoy Island, Agatti Islands, and Bangaram Island.
