The clouded leopard is a wild cat. These animals are often found on the foothills of the Himalayas and in some parts of Southeast Asia. It is named after a cloud-like dusky grey irregular pattern throughout its body. Let us learn some fun facts about clouded leopard

Clouded leopards are a great climber. They spend most of their time on the tree than on the ground.

Their shorter legs and border paws help them to climb trees at great speed. 

They have a long tail which is almost equivalent to their body length. Since they spent most of the time on trees so this tail helps them to keep their balance.

Canine teeth of the clouded leopards are the longest among feline.

Their teeth and jaws resemble an extinct group of saber-toothed cats.

They can hang upside down under a strong branch.

They are not afraid of water they are a great swimmer.

Due to deforestation, the population of these animals is decreasing at a very high rate. It is estimated that about 10 percent per year since 1987.

In some parts of Malaysian, they are known as “Tree Tiger”.

The life span of this animal is between 10 to 15 years.
